I LOVE these patent cream cut-out pointy low heels from Enzo Angolini. I scored them for $19.99. They are super comfy, too!

Brown platform heels. Looking back on this purchase, these are cute, but not ammmazing. They are comfy though and I did need brown heels. I think I will end up selling these to Crossroads soonish though. I got them for $19.99, too.

The color didn't catch that well--these are NEON CORAL AND I LOVE THEM!! :)

They are from H&M via Crossroads--new for $7. CRAZY! I put these awesome insoles in to make them a bit more comfy. That's my problem with flats--they are flat, so your toes don't get smooched, but some of them are so flat that your feet hurt! Thank goodness for insoles? :)

What: Yay! Finally got to wear my gold boots from H&M! I wore them with black tights, black short bike shorts, and an oversized black t-shirt from Victoria's Secret. I LOVE their shirts. I was thinking about adding a black beret or black fur cap, but decided to keep it simple.

Where: SF Station & Artillery AG put on the Charmaine Olivia Art Party last night, which was SO fun! I helped organize the SF Station part so of course I had to go strut my stuff! :)

What: Not a great photo to show the color of this dress, but it's actually a pretty bright (bolder than shown here) teal-green. Love the ruffles. The dress is from Anthropologie and the shoes are one of my favorites (cram & dark brown heels) by Franco Sarto. They have a great shape to them. I'll have to take another photo to post later.

Where: This is the dress I wore to my birthday dinner back in May. I decided to wear it again for my soon to be sister-in-law's bridal shower at Lovejoy's for afternoon tea! I think Anthropologie dresses are perfect for bridal showers and tea so it worked really well! :)

Left side of my closet. Love the full mirrored slide doors. So I'm hanging my over-the-door hanger on my closet rod and hanging my belts, umbrellas and hats from there.

Right side of closet, etc. I LOVE HOOKS. They are awesome and I set them up all over these walls to hang my necklaces from. Yeah.. I'm a collector of necklaces and shoes!

Shoe rack and over-the-door hanger (this time actually over the door) with scarves and a hoodie. These are great shoe racks. I have another set and more than enough shoes to fill it, but in storage, alas! I need more space! :) I have a few pairs of winter shoes under my bed right now, too. :)

So far, I'm liking my new room.

What: I got this fabulous dress on sale at H&M for $7! It's just an oversized slouchy black number, but has this cool bead work on the arms. I wore them with two simple chains and my fringe, silver studded, black cowboy boots.

Pretty. At the store none of these dresses had loose beading or parts falling off either, which can happen at the H&M quality level and price range, but these were solid.

Where: July's Art Walk in SF and then to late drinks at Orson.

Tie display at New People. I love this new complex in Japantown! It's like a plane lifted it from Asia and dropped it right here in San Francisco! :) Every time I go in or see it, I feel like I'm right back at Kyobo in Korea.

What a fabulous origami halter dress! This was on display at the origami shop in Japantown. I don't know if it's really that much folding though and how traditional it is to origami. I think it seems like a pattern that was cut in pretty paper and glued together? ;)

This is one of my favorite scarves! It's vintage and has this beautiful light pink and olive motif. I wore it with pale pink feather earrings that blended in nicely.

I didn't take any photos of the actual show, but that's okay because it was a bit eh. I mean, it was fabulous for what it was, and featured guest designer Trina Turk, but it wasn't a professional show with professional models.

It was absolutely gorgeous and summer-hot out so I wore my eyelet Marc by Marc Jacobs dress with my toffee Ferregamos. Everyone at the party was stunning--so fun to see such a fashionable group of women in SF! :)

Can I just say, I'm really glad Gilt lowered their shipping rates, but are still super fast! That and I just love Gilt because their sales are ridiculous. :) I have had my eyes on these Frye peep-toesfor awhile now, but then I saw these Seychelles on Gilt for a steal and had to get them!

I got this dress on clearance for about $40, but it had a ghastly 4" black satin hem! Not okay, but not a problem.

No cutting was necessary for this project--I just tucked the entire hem under and used a simple catch stitch to bring it up.

Really beautiful, textured, Prada-esque fabric.

I still have to iron down, and possibly topstitch the new hem. Obviously, I need to take the slip up, too! Once that's all done this dress will be a knockout. It fits so well, and looks much better as a mini--very exciting.

I found this for 75% off at Nordstrom Rack. Can I just say I LOVE The Rack! :) There was only one left and it was in my size--also, it is called the "Day Lily" dress--it was fate.

Marc by Marc Jacobs pale violet dress with white eyelet overlay. There is a left shoulder strap, but I'm going to take it out to make it a simple one shouldered dress.

I know, these shots are from a terrible angle. I tried using the timer, but it was strange. Will work on it.

I just got these Ash Opium Ankle Zip Sandals in the mail! I got them for a heck of a deal on Gilt.com, which made me a very happy girl. They arrived promptly, which is another plus to shopping with Gilt and they are quality shoes. SO comfortable, too!--I'll definitely be purchasing more Ash shoes.

They are my answer to these coveted Margielas... :)

Rodarte for Target is definitely my favorite Target designer collaboration for some time now. I've been disappointed with a lot of the previous collections, but wanted quite a few things from this one!

I ended up buying the Crepe Lace Print Dress and the Swiss Dot Dress, and I'm suuuuper happy with both of them!

What a great idea. I reckon there's tons you can do with shoelaces. Hmmmmm.. maybe it'll be a big new trend and then they'll be selling walls of shoelaces at Urban Outfitters, no doubt! I remember when I was a kid there were shoe lace ribbony hair clips that were pretty rad.

I actually do enjoy the whole first outfit--I would certainly wear it. I think I need to look into getting some mens pants and wearing them high waisted. Yes!

LOOKBOOK.nu is my new fashion blog of choice. It's v old-school Livejournal with it's password-protected exclusivity and whatnot, but the updates are still hit 'n miss. The vanity-loving high school fashionistas from Europe are most enjoyable, if not slightly intimidating!

Noortje Kooijman is super cute and has a fun, fresh look. And our fave 16-year-old fashion blogger Jane Aldridge (Sea of Shoes) has been known to post the occasional update, as well.

Sooo all that done and said--I'm trying to get more into pants now! If you know me, you know that I wear pants.. maybe 4 times a year? And jeans maybe once a year. No joke. It's just not my thing, but I'm really starting to dig cooler pant designs--harems, high-waisted, high-waisted harems.. Ooo, and I abs love love love the pants above. I kept trying to get a photo of this girl's tights! Her outfit overall was, well, not my style, but I just loooooooved her tights. You can hardly even see the detailing that well in this photo, but they were a scalloped design and were just so lovely! I find that a lot of "net" tights that aren't fishnet, just are too much or too weird or too something. These were great though--must find a pair! :)

The latest of H&M designer collaborations: Comme des Garcons starts TODAY at 10am!

The highly sought after CdG coat dress (left) is priced at $350, but is suspected to go on eBay for some $15,000! Yow. Why on Earth?! Well, there are only 10 in the world and 5 of them are right here in SF at the Powell St. store. Ridic.

My pick is the drop crotch cropped pants (middle).

Gangster hardcore. This was the line at midnight! I was just going to swing by in the morning and pick up some CdG goodies, but boy, was I trippin'! The line is going to be insane by morning.

First in line, an H&M employee who set up camp at 3pm!!! And he's wearing the exclusive employee t-shirt, naturally.

These Japanese girls are getting sassy. They went as far as to strategize for the morning's shopping throw-down, figuring out who will go for what. I love it.

Others came prepared for the 12+ hour haul with the basic necessities--you know, laptops, Starbucks, the works.

I really wanted to want to stay, but it was cold and my butt would have hurt from sitting on the concrete all night and yeah, basically, I failed at fashion.

Update: I just got an text from a friend who jumped in line at 5am. The line is now running down two blocks! New York stores have opened though.. How long should I wait to check eBay?

So I'm out at AG helping my friend Gene shop for jeans and then.. bam--there is it. There are no words for this beauty. Okay, so it's not a Singer, but I figured I'd be clever with the subject line and the new Bond is coming out and it just worked.. It's actually a GOLD JUKI! It's not paint either--gold coated I'd imagine. If you don't sew this might not be as cool, but most of the industrial machines I've come across in the States now are Juki and this is just sooo cool! I don't even know how you get one of these, but it's now officially my new goal in life. Very exciting. Okay, I'm done being a nut now..

This guy was aweeeesome. He was cracking me up! It was great. He was at work, at AG Jeans, in a full suit. Everyone else there (not that they looked bad) was dressed down in, well, denim. But not this guy! He was quite done up and I asked him why and he goes, "Just because I work in a jeans shop doesn't mean I don't have to look my best." Agreed.

Check out that Sean Jean collar! What would you even call that? A reverse double scalloped edge collar?! Definitely not for everyone, but that is pretty fresh.

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the SFMOMA Annual Press Luncheon. So exciting.

Great fit.

This sweater is amazing amazing amazing. I'm always amazed with knitwear like this. If it were a print it wouldn't be as impressive as this pattern being woven into a sweater.
I was able to catch up with him later and snag a photo of his whole look--against the new gold curtain, of course! I dig the oversized bag, how the sweater is really the only busy part of the outfit, and the gold Cons!

The Art of Participation, because we love hands-on installation art.

Microphones 2008, an interactive installation with modified microphones, computers, electronics and custom software by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer. The photograph kind of captures it, but really, waking into this room was such a beautiful experience.

Me, participating in the creation of art. It was kind of a trip--you speak into the microphone and it records what you say, but you won't hear it until moments later, along with other thoughts and noises mixed in. Very random and very fun, indeed.

Just two weeks ago, Holly and Michael (featured in this previous post) signed of on a fabulous location for their new boutique, Shotwell (36 Geary St, SF).

The location and space are perfect, but they had tons of work to do for their First Thursday opening night party. They were kind enough to give me a sneak peek!

I love these fixtures.

They found amazing furniture and little knick knacks for decor.

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts had a major turnout for Freedom of Art: Election Night 2008.

I've had my eye on these Miss Sixty shoes for awhile now.. but now I want this Zara shawl jacket instead.

Rafael Musni, Associate Gallery Director of Tonogon Gallery. This couple was absolutely adorable. What I love is that they don't look like they got up in the morning and coordinated their outfits for the day, but their clothes flow very nicely together.

I was expecting more people (especially in SF!!) to dress FOR the election!? This guy looked very patriotic while my election day outfit (below right) was a little more partisan.
Being the weird fashion obsessed girl that I am, I tend to always remember what I and others wore to whatever past events. It's like remembering your prom dress, but on a daily basis. I'm excited to look back on this election and remember that I supported Obama and very appropriately wore my blue reworked vintage dress by Taxi CDC!

T-shirts will never go out of style. Just think about when these historical shirts will be vintage. I'm now on the search for the cutest Obama shirt.

For Halloween this year I decided to start the night out by hitting up D-Structure for the Sacred Mortal Art Opening and Halloween Extravaganza. It was so fun.

The shop/gallery was transformed into a costumed-out dance party with an open bar, of course! I have to give it to Marcial and all of the fabulous folks at D-Structure!
